Thanks to Jeff Todd for this report: The J/22 East Coast Championship was hosted by Severn Sailing Association on October 17-18 in Annapolis MD with Fleet 19. SSA did a great job hosting a socially distanced regatta. We had no after-sailing parties, but we were very happy to be able to race seven competitive races. The J/22s shared the race course with the J/24s who were also sailing their East Coast Championship. On Saturday, the race committee did a fantastic job getting four races off in a light northerly breeze. The wind shifted to the right as the day went on, but the left side of the course always seemed to be favored. It turned out, there was less current and more pressure on the left. On Sunday, we had a light easterly breeze, and the race committee got in three more windward-leeward twice-around races. The left side of the course again paid off until the last race of the day when the southerly filled in from the right side. We had two junior teams and two teams from the US Naval Academy racing with us. Results are here: http://j24eastcoastchampionship.com/results
